Yes, but I do it on purpose. Instead of “retarded” I say “retraded.” It’s kind of like a double-entendre.
I SAY WHAT I WANTS!!! But really, yes I do. I say “frustrating”, “Fustrating”. When people make fun of me, I cry a little inside.
I say lots of things wrong…Totes… I say “remember” wrong. I say “rerember”.
i say lots of medical terms incorrectly. i discover that they are a lot harder to say than read when i tutor, and then i end up sounding like an idiot trying to pronounce all the different terms. stupid latin!!!
the poons pointed out that i say “especially” like “expecially”
and i used to make the error of pronouncing words that can be nouns/verbs as the noun pronunciation for both uses (i.e. address)
i pronounce the word “cuisine” as “cruisine”, probably because that’s the way I’d hear my mom say it growing up. I also learned my first year in college that “maniacal” isn’t pronounced “maniac-al”. what a disappointment…
People in CA tell me I say Appalachian (like the mountain chain) wrong which I think is strange because I grew up in those mountains and I’m pretty sure the people there pronounced it my way. Who knows.
kevin pronounces mischievous, mis chee-vee-uhs, instead of mis chu-vus, which he then pointed out on dictionary.com that there are RARE occasions that ppl use the mis-chee-vee-uhs pronounciation.
@Daniel: Dude, I totally remember that you used to use “address” the wrong way, but I was too timid to correct you at the time. I’m glad you’ve addressed it.
