We don't celebrate thanksgiving anymore not after what happened to that time Aunt Sally decided to bring sweet potatoes... I remembered those times fondly before the incident, a time of laughter, ease, and a sense of warmth and merriment. I remembered the smell of apple pie and butter scotch pudding wafting in the air. The turkey was covered in secret spice only mom would prepare; she didn't let anyone into the kitchen beforehand. All us kids would play in the front yard with our parents kindly looking over from the warmth of the kitchen. Then when we were exhausted by our activities or laugher or both, we would all cram around the table, with 5 too many chairs around it, but no one seemed to mind. The meal always seemed too beautiful to eat, too big to finish, and to delicious to stop eating. Afterwards we would all sit around stuffed to the brim, uncle sam would pat his stomach and smile at himself as if to say "You did good today; rest for a bit." All that changed that day...I won't go into the details but needless to say my once happy memory has been replaced by one of gloom and sorrow. Dad still can't look at turkey without sighing and sometimes when he is alone I think I hear him crying... Needless to say you can see why I love the side dish of sweet potatoes...

I'll write a function to tell you how to function! No it's pretty tragic though when emails go down. I've miss important things like people telling me what to do or people's addresses. It's like back in the day when I had a pager, had to wait around the pay phone in order to call people back. And then it would rain, bad time. I remember getting sundays back at the DQ and chillin by my old Caddy waiting for Beth to show up and then I'd see her pull in a new car with Jerry, who was my best friend, and they'd walk out holding hand. Of course they didn't see me or maybe they did and just didn't care. Sometimes I cry myself to sleep. The room gets very dark and cold....soo cold....wait what was the question?

(I think you should adjust the language of the response a little, 'cause it can be ambiguous, like...)

Yes, that's true; I did not know how to function when gmail went down today.

and

No, I did not know how to function when gmail went down today.

(but maybe it's just me confusing myself)

Either way, it was a DISASTER of EPIC proportions! j/k They did a great job turning it around so quickly.
